#23 Alabama vs Clemson Game Thread

The Tide host the Tigers to close out Day 1 of the ACC-SEC Challenge

NCAA Basketball: South Alabama at Alabama Gary Cosby Jr.-USA TODAY Sports

As the first day of the ACC-SEC Challenge winds to an end, the Crimson Tide is set to host Clemson in what should be a barn-burner between two likely NCAA Tournament teams, who are also likely to compete for their respective conference crowns. It’s been quite the night thus far, with some extremely competitive games already on the books for the inaugural event. Can the Tide score a big win for the SEC, and more importantly, for their early NCAA Tournament resume?

The Tigers come into Tuscaloosa tonight with an extremely experienced team, one that can shoot well from long-range and includes a top-tier big man in PJ Hall. The Tide will definitely be pressed on the defensive end of the court, where Nate Oats’ team has a long way to go to get anywhere close to where last year’s team was defensively.

The game is scheduled for a late tip-off of 8:30 PM CST and will be televised on ESPN once the Kentucky-Miami game wraps up. The Tide is favored by 9.5 points.
